The 8 Best Podiums for Event Centers, Conference Centers, and Hotels

A podium at an event venue lives a hard life. Monday it's a corporate keynote. Wednesday it's a rotary lunch. Saturday it's a wedding toast. In between, it gets rolled down service hallways, bumped into door frames, and stored behind stacks of banquet chairs.

And it has to look great every time, often with someone else's logo on the front.

That's a very different job from a church pulpit or a classroom lectern. Here's what matters, and our picks for venues of every size.

Before you shop

It has to roll

Your setup crew will move this thing hundreds of times a year. Look for casters or tilt-back wheels, a reasonable weight, and a frame that can take a bump. Aluminum and laminate hold up better here than delicate finishes.

Plan for other people's logos

Clients will want their own branding on the front. A sign panel, a flat front for a vinyl logo, or hidden magnets for a swappable plaque make that easy. A built-in screen makes it effortless.

Work with the house AV

Most venues already have a sound system. Look for cable grommets and mic mounts so your AV team can wire the podium cleanly. If some of your rooms don't have sound, a lectern with a built-in system covers those.

Buy a matching fleet

A ballroom, a few breakout rooms, and a boardroom might need five or six podiums. Buying them in one family makes your rooms look consistent, and your staff only has to learn one set of quirks. Call us about quantity orders.

When to keep it simple

If your rooms mostly host small meetings and the occasional toast, you don't need a $5,000 digital podium. A tabletop lectern on the head table, or a couple of $245 pedestals, will do the job. Our best podiums under $1,000 list has more options.
