A solid red oak pedestal pulpit with dental molding and fluted detailing, built for churches that want an ornate, traditional chancel without a full walk-in enclosure. The detail work is where this piece earns its price, it reads as considered rather than plain from anywhere in the room.
It also solves a problem most pulpits ignore. The book rest telescopes up and down, so a church where several people preach can set it to suit whoever is speaking instead of settling on one compromise height.
Most pulpits are built at one fixed height, which means they suit one person. If your pulpit is shared between a senior pastor, a visiting speaker, a lay reader and someone leading announcements, that compromise shows, usually as someone hunching or someone reading over the top.
The 8201's book rest telescopes through a three-inch range, adjusted in place without tools. It is worth the difference in price on its own if more than one person regularly stands behind it.
Overall dimensions are 36"W x 24"D x 46"H and it weighs 182 lbs. That is a moderate footprint for a full pulpit, so it works on platforms that could not take something at five feet wide.
It ships fully assembled by freight truck. The carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery appointment, so plan on someone being there to receive it and two people to move it into position. Lead time is approximately 10 weeks from receipt of order, since each one is built to your finish.
Light Oak #35, Medium Oak #43 and Dark Coffee #37 carry no additional charge. Twelve further stains are available at a 10% upcharge, including 711 Pecan, 128 Chestnut, 514 Dark Cherry and 235 Black Pine. A white finish is also available if you want the piece to sit lighter against a dark chancel.
Ask us for free stain samples before ordering if you are matching existing pews or millwork. Wood takes stain differently from piece to piece, and a screen will not tell you what you need to know.

The TSP-620 Colonial Tiered pulpit has the same 36" x 24" footprint at a lower price, with a tiered colonial face and a fixed reading surface. Choose the TSP-620 if you want the tiered look and one speaker uses the pulpit. Choose the 8201 for the adjustable book rest and the locking door.

This item ships on a pallet and is delivered curbside to a commercial address. If the address has a loading dock, tell us at checkout and the carrier delivers dock to dock; without one, the driver uses a liftgate and you bring the piece inside.
Inspect the crate before signing, and note any damage on the delivery receipt.

Covered against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the date of purchase. If a problem turns up, email sales@podiumsdirect.com with your order number and a photo and we'll arrange repair or replacement. Normal wear, misuse, and alterations made after delivery aren't covered. Freight damage is handled separately: note it on the delivery receipt and contact us within 24 hours of delivery.
