Most platforms have two speaking positions and one pulpit. The pastor's pulpit holds the center, and everyone else—the worship leader, the announcements, the guest speaker, the eulogy—makes do with a music stand. The Speaker is the second position done properly: a true oak lectern, scaled down and light enough to move, that matches the dignity of the platform instead of apologizing for being on it.

The design does something clever with height. The face the congregation sees stands 44" tall, so the piece has real presence from the pews. The reading surface behind it sits at 40.25", a comfortable working height for notes, a Bible, or a tablet. Tall from the front, right-sized from behind.

At 60 lbs, it is genuinely portable. Two people move it easily; add the optional casters and one person rolls it wherever the service needs it—platform, fellowship hall, graveside.

WILL IT FIT YOUR PLATFORM?

Overall dimensions are 27"W x 18"D x 44"H on the audience side, with the reading surface at 40.25"H, and it weighs 60 lbs. The 27" width is the point: this fits the corner of the platform, the overflow room, or the funeral chapel where a full-size 36" pulpit would crowd everything around it.

It ships fully assembled by freight truck. The carrier calls ahead to schedule a delivery appointment, so plan on someone being there to receive it—at this weight, two people carry it into place without drama.

Each one is built to order, so allow approximately 12 weeks from the date you order. For the same reason it cannot be cancelled or returned once it is in production, so be sure of the finish before you commit.

CHOOSING A FINISH

All ten finishes carry the same price: Natural, Golden Oak, Red Oak, Early American, English Chestnut, Bombay Mahogany, Red Mahogany, Jacobean, Ebony, and Black Lacquer. That range runs from light traditional oak to finishes dark enough for a fully contemporary room—Ebony and Black Lacquer read as modern furniture, not chancel furniture.

Because the Speaker usually joins a platform that is already furnished, matching matters more than it would on a standalone piece.
